Schools should allow students to wear makeup0Introduction
Students often look up to celebrities or idols who wear makeup. Many students may even want to try using makeup themselves. However, most middle and high schools in Korea set regulations against wearing makeup in school. Should schools have makeup regulations? Let’s see what our debaters have to say.

Schools should allow students to wear makeup. I do not think that putting on makeup is going to affect students’ academic performance. In fact, they may feel more confident and happier if they use makeup. Happy students are more likely to enjoy their studies and get good grades. Schools should focus on making sure that students are learning. They should not be disciplining students for using beauty products.

Schools should not allow students to wear makeup. When students are in school, they should focus on their academics. They should not focus on their physical appearance. That is why many schools do not allow students to apply makeup or even change their hairstyles! High school students are especially interested in spending their money and time on beauty products. Schools must have these regulations so that high school students do well in their classes.

Many other countries allow students to wear makeup. Students from those nations still obey school rules and receive good marks. Using makeup has little impact on how well students do in school. My friends in the United States wear makeup to school and they still get great grades! It is natural for high school students to want to look nice. As kids grow older, they are more interested in style and fashion.

Students should not be allowed to use makeup until college. If they are allowed to use makeup, some of them may come to school wearing too much makeup! This is very distracting to other students and teachers. Schools need to show students that they must obey the rules. If schools do not have makeup regulations, then students may break more rules and receive poor grades. Makeup regulations keep order in schools.

The winner of today’s debate is Ashley. Henry committed an anecdotal fallacy. This fallacy occurs when debaters use personal experiences or examples to prove their point. Henry said, “My friends in the United States wear makeup to school and they still get great grades!” Good arguments are supported by evidence, not personal stories.
